The Ngurra Portal

We are thrilled to introduce our latest service offering, the ‘Ngurra Portal’, an innovative mapping dashboard customised for clients to transform the access and visualisation of native title data. Our groundbreaking service simplifies complex native title information into user-friendly visualisations, allowing users to meaningfully connect with Traditional Owners and acknowledge the appropriate Indigenous land use agreements, claims, and reconciliation action plans. Our mission is to ensure the Ngurra Portal helps clients to recognise and respect the rightful Traditional Owners of Australia, promoting greater awareness and understanding.

Our Journey and Vision

We envisioned creating a platform that enhances the accessibility and comprehension of native title data. The Ngurra Portal achieves this by presenting complex information through intuitive, easy-to-use visualisations and maps. Clients can effortlessly view the location of Indigenous land use agreements, the specifics of native title claims and resources on who to engage with regarding the location. This visual method not only simplifies complex data but also empowers users to engage with it meaningfully, fostering informed decision-making and respectful interactions with Traditional Owners across Australia.

By highlighting the rightful Traditional Owners and their lands, the Ngurra Portal promotes a deeper awareness and understanding of Indigenous Country. Clients can explore detailed information, filter data sets to suit their needs, and visualise how their operations interact with these lands. This tool is a crucial step toward building stronger relationships with Indigenous communities, supporting a culture of respect and reconciliation.

Development Journey

The journey to develop our Ngurra Portal service was both challenging and rewarding. We transform raw data into  structured, accessible formats and deliver it through a dynamic and robust visualisation dashboard.

Once you provide us with your data, we then create a custom map that you’re able to use to visually see what sites your operations are happening on, as well as current Indigenous land use agreements (ILUAs) and the Traditional Owners of those lands and contact information.

Impact and Future Directions

Since its launch, the Ngurra Portal has revolutionised how organisations can interact with native title data, offering unprecedented clarity and aiding in compliance and reconciliation efforts. This strengthens relationships with Indigenous communities by acknowledging their rightful land ownership.

The future of our mapping dashboard is bright, with continuous improvements and updates being a core part of our strategy. We believe the Ngurra Portal has the potential to evolve from a service to a product, making it even more accessible and impactful. We invite you to contribute to this journey. Your support can help us enhance this tool and make it widely available.
