Intern With Us
Our Indigenous Digital Inclusion Pathway Program
Our Indigenous Digital Inclusion Pathway Program (Pathway Program) was created to further the opportunities of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.
The program was developed after recognising the need for more Indigenous representation in the tech sector, which is expected to see significant growth in the coming years. As a First Nations owned and operated organisation, Winyama actively pursues value-aligned partnerships.
With a commitment to offering accessible education and equal opportunities within the technology sector, we run a two year internship program designed to achieve these goals. Since its beginnings, the program has welcomed Indigenous tech talent and provided training across our various technology streams (including GIS, Cloud and Drones). The program's inclusivity and adaptability enable interns to enhance their skills and excel in areas of personal interest.
“I am always interested to hear what challenges we face in our own communities and how different mobs have used different technology to solve them. My ultimate goal is to increase the amount of Indigenous people in the technology sector.”
— Andrew Dowding, Managing Director, Winyama
Hear from our Managing Director speak to the growth of the sector and how Australian businesses can help support Indigenous people to enter and thrive in the space.
If you are interested in pursuing a career in geospatial, cloud, or drones, please submit an expression of interest on our Careers page.
